Are You Ready for Spring?
Spring is here! We hope you are enjoying all of nature’s beauty and the miracle that is springtime. Take time out of your schedule to take a walk or a drive to see all the newness that has just arrived.
Along with the warmer weather, it’s also a time of year when we experience an increase in severe weather. Thunderstorms can cause electrical outages and your home electronics could be damaged due to circuit overload when power is restored. In addition, lightning strikes and unpredictable voltage changes may result in a surge of power to your home.
The best way to protect electronic equipment is to unplug them before the storm arrives. When you go on vacation or on business trips, it is a good idea to unplug that expensive flat screen TV, computer system, or other electronic device so that nothing happens to them while you are away. It is cheaper to live through a little inconvenience than to buy new electronic devices and file insurance claims on lightning damage. Unplug the telephone, DSL, and electrical cords from the jack or wall outlet. All three are susceptible to lightning.
What about when you are away at work or left town and forgot to unplug your devices? A surge protector and battery backup is a good way to help insure against electrical damage. Remember, the phone/DSL cord needs to be plugged into a surge protector as does the power cord. Both have common grounding, so both need surge protection. We have surge protectors available that offer a Manufacturer’s warranty for up to $50,000.00 worth of damage to any appliances that were plugged in to them. NEWS FROM TOTAH COMMUNICATIONS, INC/TOTEL CSI:
We just finished an upgrade to our backbone and doubled our capacity out to the internet cloud.
We're not done there. We are beginning our construction season for upgrading our network. We will be changing out equipment and placing fiber deeper and deeper in our network. In some cases, we will be placing fiber to the home for our customers. That means more reliable and faster speeds. This is not an overnight job. It will take several years to finish our planned upgrades. We know that many customers are looking forward to Fiber to their home and business. We are committed to providing the best possible and most reliable service possible at an affordable rate.
EXCITING NEWS FROM BartNet IP:
Our technicians have been busy with repairs to equipment from the lightning. We are continuing to upgrade and grow our network. Once we finalize our upgrade to the Nowata tower site, we will be moving to Vera to finish the install of our new tower there. This tower will help us to serve those customers in southern Washington and Rogers counties. Once that tower site is complete, the technicians will be moving to Bowring to install a new tower. This tower will help us serve customers in a largely unserved area of Northeastern Osage and Northwestern Washington Counties. We are not stopping there. We have 3 more new tower sites in the process of negotiations. These will help us to continue to lock down the most reliable wireless service in Washington, Nowata, Osage and Rogers counties.
Finally, we have notified many of our existing customers who are on the older PMP 100 radios that the manufacturer has discontinued those radios. It is increasingly more difficult to get parts. Don't despair. Our new ePMP radios are faster and more reliable. We have the ability to provide service from all our towers with the new radio format. For existing customers, we will waive the installation fee if you change out in place to the new radio. We will also provide for a 20% discount on the new radio. That is a savings of over $150.
We also have payment plans for anyone wanting to install new service. As always, when you recommend BartNet IP to a new customer and they install, we provide a months free service.
Interested customers can call 918-333-2208.
The staff at Totel CSI/Totah Communications, Inc. & BartNet IP is looking forward to helping you with all your communications needs.
